Writers' Block

'I had been suffering from 'writer's block' and after two years of rejections my feelings of being unable to 'get back on the horse' set in. Writing had become a chore, not a joy and I was beginning to panic that I would never write again. Then I met Manjinder.
 
On our first session, I was impressed with the succinct and gentle way in which Manjinder coaxed out of me the details of my fear. I unravelled some years of my experiences, not just as a writer, but also as someone who has been dealt some tragic personal blows. I enjoyed listening to Manjinder's soft but reassuring voice as she lulled me into complete physical relaxation.
 
In the few days following the session, I found I was able to go to my laptop, open up a new page and start to write. I pulled out a short story I'd started once and given up on and found adrenalin in place of fear and lethargy. My former writing self was on the way back.
 
We had one further session where I would confront my fears after which, I can happily say, that I have regained confidence again as a writer. I no longer feel that my writing sessions are to be avoided, but welcome them into my day. Yesterday, I submitted a short story for an esteemed national competition. That my confidence has allowed me to do this is nothing short of remarkable to me after such a long, fallow period.

Weight Management

'For the last 4 years I tried to lose weight, without results. Actually I ended up every year being fatter than the previous year. I spoke to my GP millions of time about my problem, but he insisted that I was eating too much since my thyroid was ok. Since I knew that this wasn’t true I decided to take a test for food intolerance. The test proved to be very interesting. I was intolerant to many things, including grain, milk and chocolate. Intolerance can cause your body to gain weight. So I decided to avoid all the food mentioned in my test result. After two months I was still trying to build up the courage to have a go, but nothing changed. The thing is, I’m originally from the Mediterranean and therefore sticking to a gluten-free diet was something very hard to do. So my sister stepped in and advised me to book an appointment with a hypnotherapist. I loved the idea, because I’ve always loved this science. This is when I met Manjinder.

 

Manjinder was great and very professional. She put me at ease from the very beginning. We set my goals -realistic goals, to be monitored every single week. After that we had a relaxation session. This is my favourite part. You see, hypnosis is not really a countdown from 10 to 1 and then you become a puppet and your hypnotherapist is your puppet-master. Hypnosis is like a back massage or a foot massage. You need to try to relax so that your brain can get a massage.

I was always interested in listening to Manjinder’s words and to breathe slowly, relax and focus on my weekly goal.

 

Well, I had 6 sessions with Manjinder and I’ve managed to stick to a gluten-free diet for 4 months (including Xmas at home, and trust me when people around you are eating Ravioli with Bolognese sauce, and you Quinoa with peas…it’s almost indecent). I even had an embarrassing situation when my trousers started to fall down when jogging because they’d become loose! Anyway, I lost a few kgs. I didn’t go from size 18 to 12, but I lost enough to give me confidence and more self-power. And it motivated me to stay on track and lose even more weight. I still do self-relaxation hypnosis and most importantly, I’m happy. I strongly advise anyone to try hypnosis with Manjinder.'

Confidence Building
