L - 'linguistic' - our use of language and how it affects us
P - 'programming' - how we sequence our actions and behaviours

Origins of NLP

NLP was created by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in the 1970's, who studied excellence in successful individuals. NLP looks at how our minds can be 'programmed' by changing our use of language and the way we think. This can be done in order to recreate or 'model' excellence, thereby making successful results achievable to all. NLP is reported to have been used by many successful individuals including sports star Andre Agassi and even Nelson Mandela!

NLP techniques are simple and effective - and often fun! By understanding how the way we think affects our behaviour, we are better able to:

- control our emotional states
- change and transform our negative thought patterns and behaviours
- change unwanted habits
- and improve our communication with others.

In this way, NLP can be used to obtain successful emotional states, enabling us to reprogramme how our minds think in order to bring us good results, for example, when we wish to quit smoking, ask for a pay rise or have the confidence to give a presentation at work. Instead of thinking, 'I can't do that,' we may start to think, 'hold on, what if that did happen?' or 'when that happens, I will feel different in the following ways...' Limiting self beliefs can often hold us back uneccessarily, but with NLP these issues can be explored realistically to see which beliefs are valid, and which do nothing but stop us achieving our full potential.

By imagining a positive future, and reprogramming our minds to see, think and feel a positive state...we can achieve just that.

NLP can help you gain greater control of your life in a number of areas including:

Confidence building / Exam Nerves / Public Speaking / Career Development / Sports Performance / Overcoming fears and phobias / Habit control / Stress control / Pain Management / Anxiety and many more...
