A: People experience hypnotic states naturally in their day to day lives. For example, when you begin day dreaming or when you become absorbed in watching television or driving. At these times, your mind has entered a 'focused state of attention'. In hypnosis, this focused state of attention is recreated through relaxation, allowing your unconscious mind to open up to positive suggestions that will help you overcome your issue of concern.

A: No. You will be fully aware throughout the session and will not be 'under the hypnotist's power' so to speak! Hypnotherapy is not 'stage hypnosis' and you will remain fully aware and in control at all times. You will only speak if you wish to do so (and please bear in mind that you are able to lie under hypnosis just as you would be able to if you were not!)

A: Yes, anyone can be hypnotised if they want to be. You do not have to be 'weak minded' but simply 'open minded' enough to relax and enjoy the experience! Whilst it can be hard for some to 'switch off' we can work together to find a method that suits you.

A: Yes, hypnosis is a completely safe method of treatment with no side effects. Positive suggestions are tailormade to help you overcome your issue of concern with your agreement.
